Volaris Airlines is recognized as one of the top low-cost airlines in the country. The airline is also recognized as Mexico’s second-largest airline, and it offers domestic and international flights to 64 destinations throughout the world with a fleet of 77 planes.

You may bring your pet on board if the total weight of your pet and carrier does not exceed 10 kg (22 lb). You must check in your pet if your pet and carrier weigh more than 45 kg (100 lb) together.

Your pet must travel in a fully closed carrier that is 44 cm in length, 30 cm broad, and 19 cm high (17.5 x 12 x 7.5 inches). Inside the container, your pet must be able to move about.

The following breeds are not permitted on Volaris flights such as American Staffordshire Terrier, Boston Terrier, Boxer, Griffon Buxelois, Bulldog, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Lhasa Apso, English Mastiff, Pekingese, Pit Bull, Canary Mastiff, Pug (all breeds), Shar Pei, Tibetan Spaniel, Cane Corso, Bordeaux Mastiff, English Toy Spaniel, Japanese Chin, and Shih Tzu dog breed Pets who are under 4 months old, lactating, unwell, aggressive, or pregnant will not be accepted. The maximum combined weight of the animal and its carrier is 45 kg (100 lbs).

All carriers must be spill-resistant.

All carriers must have a strong, robust cover that can endure standard shipping.

All carriers must be large enough to allow the animal to stand and turn around.

All carriers must feature a lock mechanism to prevent the animals from escaping, as well as sufficient ventilation and handles.

Small dogs and cats may join their owners in the cabin of Volaris flights if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 22 lbs (10 kg). The container must be closed with a plastic clamp given by the airport so that your pet does not escape during the journey. During the flight, you must store the carrier under the seat in front of you and the rest of your personal things in the overhead bins.
